Code of Conduct

Purpose:

The Delaware Valley Eagles are committed to fostering a God-honoring playing environment. Therefore, our coaches agree to uphold and are evaluated against our organization's mission and virtues and we ask for a similar agreement from players and guardians, to ensure a positive experience for all participants.

Player Code of Conduct

Respect

  • Treat teammates, coaches, opponents, referees, and spectators with respect at all times.

  • Refrain from engaging in bullying, taunting, or using inappropriate language.

Sportsmanship

  • Play with honesty and integrity, following the rules of the game.

  • Win with humility and lose with grace.

Commitment

  • Attend practices, games, and team events on time and with a positive attitude.

  • Notify coaches in advance if unable to attend.

Effort & Attitude

  • Always give 100% effort during training and matches.

  • Accept constructive feedback from coaches and work towards improvement.

Teamwork

  • Support and encourage teammates on and off the field.

  • Avoid negative or disruptive behavior that affects the team.

Safety & Well-being

  • Follow all safety protocols and respect equipment and facilities.

  • Report any injuries or concerns to the coaching staff immediately.

Guardian Code of Conduct

Respect for All

  • Model respectful behavior towards coaches, referees, other guardians, and players.

  • Refrain from over-coaching from the sidelines or arguing with referees.

Encouragement Over Criticism

  • Support players by emphasizing effort, improvement, and teamwork over winning.

  • Avoid unnecessary negative comments that could harm a player's confidence.

Commitment to the Team

  • Ensure players arrive on time and are prepared for games and practices.

  • Promote a God-honoring experience in alignment with the team’s mission.

Sideline Behavior

  • Cheer positively and encourage all players, not just your own.

  • Avoid confrontations with referees, coaches, or other spectators.

Communication

  • Address concerns with coaches or team leadership privately and respectfully.

  • Stay informed about team schedules, policies, and expectations.

Support the Program

  • Volunteer and contribute to the success of the team when possible.

  • Help create an inclusive and supportive team community.

Enforcement & Consequences

Below is the process generally followed when enforcing our Codes of Conduct. Please note that when necessary, at the discretion of the Delaware Valley Eagles leadership, steps may be skipped when the circumstances are severe:

  • Verbal warning given.

  • Sit out of practice for a time deemed appropriate by the coaches on site. When this is necessary, a conversation will happen with the parent after practice.

  • Sit out for the entire next practice.

  • Removal from current season.

Failure to abide by this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, suspension, or removal from the program at the discretion of the Delaware Valley Eagles leadership.
