Evangelism Guide - FIFA Fan Festival

1. Accessing the Fan Fest

A. The below details are a summary of what is found on https://phillyfwc26.com/fifa-fan-fest.

B. The Fan Fest is being held at Lemon Hill Park (Sedgley Dr &, N Lemon Hill Dr, Philadelphia, PA 19130).

C. You will need to first register to access The Fest through this link. Registration is free, but certain days may reach capacity.

C. Public transportation is your best option to avoid major traffic and difficulties finding parking, especially for the days when a World Cup game is being hosted in Philly. Use SEPTA transit and the Philly Phlash bus to get as close as you can to Lemon Hill Park, then walk from there.

D. You can bring non-metallic water bottles (there are free water refill stations inside the Fest), small bags, and we have not had issues so far bringing in evangelistic resources such as tracts and wristbands. See the website above for a full list of restrictions.

2. Resources for evangelism

A. We have ~1,000 bracelets that have TheFour.com printed on them and ~250 Try Praying tracts. We want them all put to use by the end of the World Cup! Please contact us if you would like some.

B. You can also bring foam poster board (purchase here) to create a sign.

C. We recognize that God has created each of us with different gifts. Some are drawn to more direct methods of engagement while others prefer to casually start conversation at a table. We also recognize that Jesus, Peter, Paul, etc., took a variety of approaches to sharing the Gospel, as the Lord led them, and as was appropriate for the context. We encourage you to first, not be ashamed of the Gospel (Romans 1:16), and second, to share Christ with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15).

D. There are many ways to evangelize around the Fan Fest.

(1) Along Kelly Drive, the road leading to the Fest’s entrance, there is opportunity to hold up signs, offer prayer, offer lemonade, or whatever other idea you come up with. This stretch is very similar to the walk heading into a Phillies game. Selling items may require a permit.

(2) Once in the Fest, there are people from around the world watching the game, taking part in the attractions, buying merchandise, etc. There is ample opportunity to start organic conversation with folks, at which point you can share the Gospel with them and offer a Gospel bracelet, tract, etc. as a gift.

E. We encourage you to pray before you go, that God would highlight those around you whose are hearts are ready to hear the Gospel. Then follow his lead and approach those he shows you.

F. We also encourage you to review our evangelism guide, which refreshes us on the core components of the Gospel. We built this for our staff as we share the Gospel with children, but it is very applicable to all people and important to communicate the Gospel accurately

3. Keep praying

A. Continue to pray for those you interacted with after you leave the Fest. Pray that the seeds you sewed will fall on fertile ground. Pray that God would bring other laborers alongside them, who would tend to their growth.

B. Continue to pray also for evangelism that is happening around the country at this time. The USA, which God has used to send missionaries all over the world, is now seeing millions from those countries come to our turf. What an opportunity to plant seeds and watch the Gospel return to those countries.
